You probably know that September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. What better time to kick off specials for this cause?
This fall, 15% of all proceeds will be donated to pediatric cancer research. While I have volunteered my services in the past, no cause has hit closer to home after this past year. We have had a child in our extended family and a few children of our high school friends diagnosed with various cancers. These are just people in our circle. Through their experience they have encountered more kids, and then more kids, with cancer. During this time I learned pediatric cancer has the smallest allocation of funds designated for research to save these young lives. Why is this and what can we do?
